The Social Trade Organisation (STRO) based in Utrecht, NL, is to date the most active and successful institution in complementary currencies.

In early 2011 I visited them in Uruguay to study their best known product, the widely used opensource currency and banking software Cyclos and their activities in Latin America with flagship projects in Brazil, Honduras and Uruguay.

With the Buy Local Campaign and their C3 (commercial credit circuit) methodology, they are now re-engaging in Europe.
